Perfect
I got this as a second 2 shot filter for my ilavie generic espresso maker. The construction is for standard espresso makers with the closed bottom if you require a 51mm filter. Construction looks well made slightly better machined and polished then the one that came with my machine. I have a few filters and this one has a single hole on the bottom, exactly like the 20bar espresso maker came with. My 15 bar machine has a filter with maybe 1/4â round area with multiple holes maybe because of the lower pressure. Both seem to work well in the 20bar machine. So for now 5 stars as its perfect for my machine, fits easy in the handle and pops off easily not tight or too loose its perfect at 51mm. I measured how many grams i was able to pack in giving it just enough room at the top to screw it on, so the max was 13grams of coffee packed down with my damper.

A Necessary Accessory for a Manual Lever Machine
 This 51mm portafilter basket is a perfect fit for the La Pavoni Europiccola EPC-8. My experience was that no matter how fine I made the coffee ground I could not get much crema. This “pressurized basket” makes all the difference in the world. The bottom of the basket is double walled, with only a single tiny hole. The first wall (the one in contact with the coffee puck) is a traditional screen. The mode of operation is that the pressure above the puck (coming from the boiler) is 1.25 Bar, not enough to produce crema. The theory is that with a very fine ground and just the right amount of tamping of the grounds, as the lever is lowered the pressure of the water being forced through will be sufficient to produce crema. The single tiny hole on this basket, however, does the job. On a Europiccola when the green light goes out, the machine will be at the right temperature and pressure. Raise the lever, and let the cup fill with espresso coffee. When you have the amount you want lower the pressure lever. One downside is that the basket is not as deep due to the double wall. I can only get ~10 g of coffee in the basket, while on a non-pressurized basket I can use ~13 g. For $7 to make a $1600 machine work, this is astounding. Just buy it. This should make 20 to 30 g of espresso, depending upon roast and taste, with lots of crema.

Good 51mm espresso cup
This stainless steel 2 cup espresso is nice. The only thing is that it has this little tab that comes out, which my other one doesn’t. I have to make sure that the tab lines up to the groove in my tapper or the cup doesn’t fit. Overall, it works well, will update if anything changes.

Perfectly Compatible with Gourmia Espresso Machines!
I own a Gourmia GCM4230 8-in-1 One-Touch Espresso and it’s 2 cup filter was acting up. The measurements and picture looked awfully similar to this filter, so I purchased it to give it a try. Lo and behold it was a perfect fit. Thank you for providing this replacement part and not requiring me to purchase a whole new device.

Inaccurate description and pictures provided by seller
The description at the time of this review shows it as an open bottom however this is a pinpoint bottom. There is a pressure-held filter so you will never be able to remove it and clean between the filter and the pin pinpoint hole. Because of this who knows what will grow between the layers and good luck trying to clean the holes when they plug.Does feel like sturdy construction but you will not get what is described or pictured.

I’m not sure how they measure these things exactly but the first one I ordered was too big. Once I had the right one I was amazed. I was amazed because its impossible to see how they get blocked – I was convinced my coffee machine was broken, but once I fitted this new filter it sprang back to life!
