The perfect tamper.Snug fit, not too heavy or too light.Its comfortable to use and does excellent with eliminating the excess rim of untapped grounds

Perfect
I’ve worked at many cafes and this is by far the best tamper I have used. I much prefer this over others even including the pullman big step. It is lighter than other tampers but by no means a feather which is awesome. The height is good and shape feels good in the hand. No suction, fast feel, and very good looking as well.

Slightly more fragile than most tampers
The 58.4mm diameter brilliantly provides a tighter fit in many portafilters than generic sized 58mm tampers. But there is a reason that they make the base easily replaceable. Since the edge of the tamper is thin and has a low angled profile, it is much more prone to bumps and nicks causing damage to the edge than a traditional tamper, which is made from a huge block of metal and a (nominal) 90 degree angle at the bottom. My tamper already has a slight dent in it and I’ve only had it a couple of weeks. Still a great product but thought this was important to know.

Immediate positive effect on the extractions
I found an immediate improvement in the evenness of extraction. It seems to eliminate some of the burnt/sour shots weâd get from lazy prep. Fits great in our E61 IMS Competition baskets.

Great tamper. I had a good 58 m tamper, but was a sloppy fit for my Bottomless portafilter. My first tamp with the 58.4 was uses with the same coffee and tamp pressure. The coffee extraction was slower and the taste was much better. Proving that there was more untamped coffee with the 58m tamper.

Nice precision tamper
I had dropped my Luxhaus calibrated tamper, and needed something other than the convex tamper that shipped with my Quickmill machine.Since I have a preciscion basket, I decided I needed a 58.4mm tamper to make sure I was getting as close to the edges as possible. Since I don’t have a Big Step to test against, all I can say is that this is a much better fit. I don’t seem to be forming a vacuum though, and everything appears to be working great.Fit and finish is nice. For the price, it appears to be well worth it.
