What I was looking for
I was looking for a manual lever espresso maker and was initially looking at the Flair58 but didn’t want something that required electricity but still wanted a standard 58mm portafilter. This was exactly what I was looking for. The tamp that’s included is one that “pops” at 30lbs. It comes with what I think is a single shot espresso basket and their 20g Dex basket, I do wish they’d either replace the single shot basket with their 15g Dex basket or just include the 15g basket along with the other 2 but that’s a minor gripe.The only warning I would give is this takes a bit of practice to get working properly. It took me a bit of practice to realize what I initially thought was “play” in the level was actually useful, the play was me opening and releasing a valve. I wasn’t able to even reach 6 bars of pressure until after I realized that. Once I had that down, the only issue I have is getting the right weight to hit and maintain pressure but I’ve managed to get pretty consistent with it over the last few days.Overall, it’s great. Love not having to have yet another thing in my kitchen plugged into an outlet.
