Small but mighty
I’ve never had a manual grinder so I don’t have anything to compare this to. After I figured out how to use it, I was very pleased with the quality of the resulting coffee grounds which were consistently uniform, whether very fine or more on the course side.
This unit is quite small; the most it will grind at a time is 1/3 cup, or about 2 cups of coffee, depending on one’s desired strength. This is consistent with most manual grinders, it seems. It wouldn’t be practical to use this for large batches of coffee–better an electric grinder.
It was difficult for me to hold and turn. I’ve hand problems, some arthritis and so a compromised grip. I had to use a silicone jar opener in order to grip tight enough to turn the handle. Of course the coarser the grind, the easier the grip. I think it would be nice if the unit had an hourglass shape with some texture in the middle to help with gripping.
I used a medium grind in an Aeropress and the coffee was delicious. I imagine it may be that the manual grinder doesn’t create any heat and the bean is not abused in the process unlike what an electric grinder may do if fully loaded. Even the best electric burr grinder will create some heat.
This is a conical burr grinder. If a person only wants a small amount of coffee for a cup or two, this is a nice choice. Or, if someone is looking for a grinder in case of emergency (power outage) this will definitely do the trick. Or, better yet, this is perfect for the coffee fanatic who enjoys the rituals of excellent coffee making.
The grinder is classy looking, too! Nice gift, nicely packaged, just add a ribbon. For the connoisseur of coffee, a good little grinder.

Very nice little hand grinder
This is a well made, well thought out and easy to use little grinder –
The instructions explain how to set the grinder and explain that the numbers are for reference – you tighten fully and then back off by number of clicks – and take note of the number showing – so its not 1-12 is course to fine but once you do this the first time, its easy and repeatable.
You can set this so fine that nothing comes out – but at about 6-7 clicks it makes a very fine espresso type grind in just a few minutes (easily done before the water boils).
The total capacity is small – but if you are grinding large amounts of coffee, you may not want a hand grinder. The finer it’s set, the longer it takes.
The handle comes off for storage and for loading the beans into the grinder, keeping it very compact to store or carry.
Beans can’t hop out while grinding because the handle includes a lid over the beans – so you don’t have to hold it carefully upright while grinding and the ground coffee goes into the screw on cup at the bottom – no leaks or spills.
This is well designed and very well built – its a high quality little grinder and looks like it should last a very long time.

Elegant coffee grinder
First, I love the look and design of this coffee grinder – very elegant. So much quieter than an electric grinder, and it’s nice to not have to mess with a cord. Worked really well grinding beans for my French press, but I had to click the adjustment a little further than suggested for a coarse grind. By the third try, I had it adjusted perfectly. I also love the box it was packaged in – perfect if you’re giving this as a gift.

Well made burr grinder that makes a good grind
This is a nice looking, well made portable grinder.
You can adjust this to get the type of grind you want, and it does a pretty solid job of it.
This is a fairly compact grinder, so it is going to be more ideal if you are looking to make say, a cup or two of coffee in one go.
The design is great though – it does exactly what they say it will.

Mismatched assembly
The handle/lid does not fit on top of the grinder. I can only assume it was the top to a different grinder that somehow got bundled with this one.
