A wonderful grinder!
I replaced an OXO grinder with this one. The OXO was constantly clogging due to its angled chute between the hopper and the receptacle. It’s almost impossible to clean. after using many bent paperclips, I binned it.The Kitchen Aid has a straight, vertical hole which makes cleaning a breeze. It has not clogged once. The user interface is terrific. You can dial the grind size, then the machine calculates the grind time based upon the number of cups you want. After a couple trial and error efforts, I found the perfect settings to use with my Moccamaster. I cannot speak to espresso, but this machine is perfect for drip coffee. And, it is exceptionally quiet. The OXO sounded like a plane taking off and scared my cats out of the kitchen. This machine is very quiet indeed. The quality of the parts, like the receptacle, is exceptional, and the red looks great in our kitchen. Another plus is that you can remove the bean hopper with the beans still inside if you want to clean the machine, unlike others where you need to dump the beans in a bowl. Cleaning is easy, too. The burrs pop right off and are easily cleaned with a brush (don’t use water). Then you can easily clean the hole between the burrs and the receptacle to avoid clogging.I don’t usually write reviews, but this is an excellent bit of kit. I know it’s not on the coffee snob list of recommended grinders, but if you want a well built and attractive piece for regular coffee, I highly recommend this.

Excellent Coarseness Control For Most Coffee Drinkers
At this price point I’m not sure that there are many other grinders that could compete with this one. I was prepared to spend quite a lot more for a grinder than I did on this KitchenAid model, and I think I scored a real value here. The controls are super easy to use, with the grind coarseness and amount selectors being particular standouts. No matter how bleary-eyed uncaffeinated you might be first thing in the morning, it’s a cinch to set your preferences and hit “Start”. I’m still playing around with the coarseness to find the exact best grind for my daily coffeemaker, but right out of the box I was pleased with the results I got. It’s quiet enough as far as grinders go. Light sleepers in your house might disagree but whatever irritation they might have at being woken up is sure to be mitigated by the promise of coffee made with freshly ground beans, so tell them to calm down and grab their favorite mug.The bean hopper is nicely designed, and seems airtight enough that I don’t mind leaving a few days’ worth of beans in it at a time. Also, static doesn’t seem a huge problem as this thing has gotten regular use since it landed on my kitchen countertop and not once have I had to try and coax shy grounds out its nooks and crannies.

Excellent Coffee Grinder
If you want a trouble free coffee grinder that is quiet, quick, and easy to use, consistent grinds, with very little mess, and easy to clean, then this is it. Your coffee grinding PTSD will be eliminated. I have used less expensive grinders than this Kitchen Aid, including a $20 Kitchen Aid, that was slow, loud, and difficult to clean. This grinder can be easily set for expresso, drip, and pour over. It has a slid for grind size that can be quickly set and a fine tuning dial to set the number of cups which also controls the grind time. It even has a micro adjustment knob.I have now used this grinder a dozen times with absolutely no problems, not even static in the grind collector cup. Cleaning is easy. The stainless steel conical burr can be removed for cleaning, but should not be rinsed. The other parts, the coffee bean holder and collector cup with lid, and bottom tray should only be hand washed. Time wise, I can grind 5 different 1 lbs batches of whole bean coffee and clean up the machine in less than 1 hour at a leisure pace. The most tedious part of cleanup are the top and bottom conical burrs using the provided brush. If you clean the conical burrs, the removable top burr, and the bottom fixed burr, after completing your grinding, your grinder will not clog and your coffee grinds will be consistent every time you use it. I clean the conical burrs, run the machine for the equivalent of 1 to 2 cups, reclean, and repeat 3 times. This only takes a few minutes to do.

Love this grinder! It grinds super quietly and the grounds are very consistent. The canister is anti-static so I don’t get grounds anywhere, and I love that it has a lid that seals in case you grind in advance and want to keep it fresh. I also really like that there are various grind settings and you can grind by the amount of cups/shots you’re making, so you don’t have to do the math (unless you want to). I think it’s much prettier and higher quality looking in person, and I appreciate the slim and sleek profile because it takes up very little space on the counter. Another nice feature is the hidden mount for grinding into an espresso portafilter. I’ve been using it for about a month with no issues – hoping it holds up over time!

This is my first time buying a blurr coffee grinder. This one probably is amongst the expensive leagues. I drink drip coffee and this one has other functions to grind for Expresso, French Press etc. It’s amazingly quiet during operation. And cleaning it is effortless, just use the brush provided. It is esthetically beautiful to sit at the counter top. So far, I am very pleased with my decision to buy it at such a cost.
