Stylish, works great and makes a mean cup o’ coffee!
Love my red “cafetera greca”. It makes ONE strong and LARGE cup of coffee. Fills my standard mug to the brim, barely room for cream. By “6 cups,” they must mean espresso shots. If you like an old-school, piping hot, single cup of coffee that’ll put some hair on your chest, this is for you. Of course, you can put less coffee grounds and make it less strong. Very versatile. Best of all, it looks great sitting out on the stove and takes up very little room. It’s a cinch to clean too!Using it takes a little finesse. It’s not a pod coffee maker, and there are inconveniences if you don’t use it correctly. Some common challenges:1) You have to let all the parts dry completely after washing before putting it back together. If you seal it up with moisture in it you might end up with a musty metal smell next time you use it.2) The color will change with use. I’ve used this red one over 90 times and the red on the bottom is just starting to turn a bit brassy (See photo). Character! My last one got REALLY discolored on the bottom after a year of use, and it wasn’t as pretty anymore. So I got a new one. $20 a year isn’t a huge deal to me. 3) It gets VERY HOT. I had the handle melt off my first one after I forgot about it and let it cook on the stovetop for 30 minutes. As with all pots and pans, this is not a “set it and forget it” appliance. To avoid overheating the pot, you can add boiling water to the base, then add the coffee, screw on the top tightly and set it over the burner to percolate. It’ll be ready in 30 seconds. Also, make sure the size of your burner/flame is not much larger than the base, or you risk heating the sides (bad) as much as the bottom. My smallest burner is larger than the pot, so I boil the water in the base first (see photo), then add the coffee and twist on the top. The biggest mistake people make with these is overheating the entire thing, burning the coffee and possibly melting off the plastic parts.4) This pot “leaks” when you pour it in the sense that coffee will run down the side unless you pour it slowly. This is due to the small spout and the lid not creating a water-tight seal. It wasn’t designed to be dumped into your mug in 2 seconds flat. Take a moment to stop and smell the coffee while you gently pour it into your mug. I guarantee no spills if you do it that way. :)Enjoy!

simple + straightforward coffee
i did my research before buying this moka pot. i got it in red with the six cup variation. i’ve been using this moka pot for a little over a month now. this is not the type of coffee pot to serve a group of family/friends. i love the simplicity of this pot. going into this moka pot, i read the do’s and donts to prevent any harm to this product, considering it sitting on a stove to brew coffee. i’ve always put the heat level for this moka pot at medium and it holds up really well. i only do a rinse when i wash the pot. it is easy to clean. so far, i used peet’s and illy’s ground coffee. my favorite is the illy’s bold expresso ground. i will try lavazza’s expresso ground when i get the chance. the flavor is nice and bold and the coffee gets really hot. i read that it is best to throw in already hot water into the pot to prevent a bitter taste from boiling from cold. this also helps you to stay more alert when the coffee is done and gives you short time to wait and turn down the heat to prevent any damage. i was told to be careful with the handle of the pot. as i hold onto the handle as i pour the coffee into my cup, i could feel a bit of a instabilty. my pot hasn’t gotten damage yet and i know it has been a month, but i’m still impressed that the paint looks nice.overall, i would recommend this moka pot for those who want something simple, clean with no sacrifice in flavor. if anything, i’ve had the best tasting coffee out of this moka pot than any home coffee machines. 5/5

So pretty!
It’s functional, and the handle doesn’t get over heated like my smaller moka pot. I purchased this color specifically because it’s so pretty. I have a smaller 3 cup moka pot, but this 6 cup is my idea of a normal cup of coffee. It’s also easier to use than my espresso maker.

Honest Review/Get this if you don’t want to spend too much/
Works as intended, pretty cut and simple.I bought this to have espressos this fills about maybe a double’s worth of espressoI’ll get to the pointstarting with cons1. the bottom where the fire meets and lower inner chamber can be a bit weird to clean as it stains with coffee (this isnt much of a con assuming youll be using it for only coffee but thought i’d let you know my experience)2. I have noticed while using a gas stove the fire leaves slight black burn marking on the bottom part but thats not much of an issue3. the handle even though it does a good job of not retaining too much heat if you’re not carefuly, due to the small size of the handle its hard to hold if you have average to larger sized hands, which may lead to accidentally touching the VERY hot metal.Pros: as stated above it does what you need it to so and overall its a very aesthetically pleasing and lightweight device. It brews coffee in a couple minutes (maybe faster depending on the heat you apply).the construction seems sturdy and have no worries so far about it falling apart or failing. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for a small quick and easy way to make espressos.Disclaimer: I have noticed that this thing gets really HOT so be careful to not let your coffee burn because it is very easy to do. so once it starts brewing keep an eye on it as to not leave a burnt flavor in your brew. This isn’t much of a con more of a “watch out”. All-in-all get this, it’s relatively cheap and works great.this is in no way shape or form sponsored nor was I paid/given anything to write this review.2. the bottom

Vintage Design
This is an ancient design, tested for decades. Simple, sturdy, quick. Even quicker if you have a gas stove. Yes, the handle can melt, thats why grandma sets it a little to the side of the flames. Yes, it can leak, but if you pour carefully and change the seal every few years you can wipe up a few drips without any pain.Best value espresso maker, buy others only if cheaper.
