I have an electric spice and coffee grinder, but it suffers in that trying to get a grind JUST right for something like pour-over or French press coffee can be a bit of a hit or miss proposition, so I picked this up. Its adjustable nature makes it fantastic for dialing in the exact grind you want, and once set, making those grinds reproducibly. The fact that it is manual makes it ideal for travel, camping, and use in our RV, anywhere an electrical outlet might not be readily accessible. The set is nice and thoughtfully designed: it comes with the grinder, a carry bag, a brush, and a ‘grind card’ (which I still am not sure how to use). It is built very well and looks like it will last a long time; the fit and finish on this grinder is superb in my opinion. The grinder IS heavy, but is balanced so exquisitely that I get no fatigue when grinding and no wobble either. A full hopper of beans will produce about 4 tablespoons of ground coffee on a French press setting; the grinding was effortless. You will have to experiment until you find your perfect grind, but getting close right away is easy and once you are dialed in you can forget about messing with it.I can only think of a couple of failing this grinder has. The first, and most glaring, is the instructions on how to set the grind. The instructions sent with it are not easy to understand (to me at least); thankfully, on the product page under “Product Description” is the how to (simplified here):1. Turn grind fully clockwise until it stops.2. Turn it counterclockwise (which increases the coarseness of the grind) counting the clicks until you reach where you want (26 for Coarse for French press).3. Adjust as needed.A second shortcoming is cleaning the grinder: taking it apart/putting it back together is not simple. Granted, you can do most of the cleaning with the brush provided and not taking it apart, but I would like it to be easier. Finally, they fact you can only grind about 4 Tbsp of beans at a time might be a bit off-putting to some.Despite these shortfalls, none of which warrant removing a star, this is a quality tool that any coffee aficionado will love, and worth the price.

Firstly, the bean capacity falls short of my previous grinder, meaning more frequent refills are required – a minor inconvenience, but worth noting nonetheless. Secondly, the absence of a transparent window to gauge the amount of ground coffee adds a layer of uncertainty to the grinding process.Nevertheless, these minor gripes pale in comparison to the overall excellence of the coffee grinder. For anyone seeking to elevate their coffee game to new heights, look no further. With its precise grinding capabilities and thoughtful design, this grinder is a true game-changer in the world of coffee aficionados.
