I love this pot!!
I love this pot for several reasons – itâs inexpensive and it makes great espresso for lattes!!!! Iâm so happy I got this instead of an espresso machine – this is not a hands off sort of morning coffee but I love making it and I feel like a bit of a scientist. I highly recommend boil water first before filling the lower chamber (trust me youâll be happy you did! Youâll have coffee quicker and it wonât taste burnt!)â-(adding boiling water to the lower part will make it very HOT so use a hot pad to hold the bottom while you screw on the top) then always fill up the coffee section all the way and you have a great cupa in just a few minutes! This makes my house smell amazing and I love seeing it on the stove when not in use (itâs adorable!) and I get lots of compliments.

One of the best gifts I have ever received
My husband gifted me this coffee pot for my birthday. I was a little skeptical because it seemed like a lot of work for a little coffee. In reality, there is very little upkeep you have to do to this little pot to keep it clean, and I’m sure you’re supposed to use a certain kind of coffee but I just use the regular stuff I use in my drip coffee maker. I rinse the pot thoroughly, fill the reservoir with filtered water, measure out my coffee, twist on the lid, and put it on the stove. In no time, I have the most flavorful cup of coffee ever. Technically it’s about 4 shots of espresso but I split it between myself and my husband, so we are well caffeinated and ready to go in the morning! We don’t have to drink multiple cups to feel awake and energized. It has the added bonus of looking super cute on our stove. I love this little guy!A word of advice to people just starting out with this pot – make sure to set the pot on the edge of your burner so the handle is not over the heat. The handle is plastic and could melt if you had it turned the wrong way.

Makes good coffee, but needs some warnings
I’ve used this type of espresso pot for many years but it’s always been a Bialetti. When my last pot had a meltdown (forgot to put water in) I decided to try the Primula since it was on sale for a significantly lower price than the Bialetti. Overall they’re the same with a couple minor differences that lowered my rating on this. Primula recommends a fine espresso grind – I use Café Bustelo Espresso Dark Roast with good results. Per instructions, do NOT use the handle to screw or unscrew the top – it WILL break. Instead hold the bottom in one hand and the top in your other when unscrewing. Second, set the pot at the edge of the burner with the handle beyond the burner – if the handle is directly above the heat, it WILL melt. Do NOT use on high heat – use a medium setting. You can turn the burner off when you hear the coffee start to bubble up the center tube – it will stay hot enough to finish brewing and reduce the risk of burning your coffee. These issues are true for all brands of this kind of pot so it did not affect my rating. However, the handle on this pot is designed so that is easy for your top finger to brush against the aluminum connector and get burned. Also, if you let the coffee sit on the burner and it starts boiling, your hand can get scalded by steam coming around the back portion of the lid. Be sure there is no steam escaping from the pot when you pour. Per instructions, don’t use soap when cleaning, and don’t put it in the dishwasher. I just rinse in hot water after brewing. The water tank (bottom) of the pot will develop a black layer of coffee residue that an Italian family told me is a good thing – it adds to the flavor. However if you can’t deal with the look, just use a big bottle brush after each brew and it will prevent that layer from developing. Eventually you WILL have to replace the rubber gasket – at the moment Primula 9 cup gaskets are not available on Amazon, but other brands are and hopefully they will work. Finally be aware that ‘cup’ in this context means a 1 oz espresso shot – the 9 cup model is perfect for the large mug I use. All these things said, it makes great coffee if you pay attention to the instructions and take care not to burn yourself. I expect it to last for years as long as I can get replacement gaskets that fit.

I’m from Ethiopia and I enjoy drinking Ethiopian or Arabica coffee. This coffee maker has made it incredibly easy to make a delicious cup of coffee in just a couple of minutes. The taste is just as good as coffee made in a traditional Jebena. I’m very satisfied with the quality of this product. However, it’s important to note that the size is quite small and only suitable for making coffee for one person. Unless you opt for the larger size, keep that in mind.

Bang for a buck, also it’s cheap material and you need to learn the craft to make it especially from this time can. Don’t buy it for awesome coffee but it for experiential coffee making.

Great coffee maker. I wish it was a bit bigger though. Not fancy Italian finish, but value for money.
